Kate Mulgrew may have appeared in every episode of Star Trek: Voyager, but she wasn’t the first actress to play Captain Kathryn Janeway. Canadian actress Genevieve Bujold was originally cast, but only lasted for a few days of filming on the first episode. After her abrupt exit, she cited a number of reasons behind her decision to leave - including a claim that she was offended by producers asking her to pad out her uniform in order to please Star Trek's mainly male fan base!
