Virgin1's Christmas Shorts

What’s this all about then?
We love a bit of festive spirit here at Virgin1 and, when it comes to classic Christmas films, they just don’t make ‘em like they used to – or do they?

We’re calling on all you creative types out there to recreate your very own Christmas classics. We’ll feature them on our YouTube group and a selection of the best will be showcased on Virgin1 over the festive period. Getting your face on telly has never been easier. And as an added incentive, the best film will win a swanky JVC camcorder.

What exactly are we looking for?
We’re looking for mini versions of classic Christmas films or those films that are so associated with Christmas that it just wouldn’t be the same without them. The list is endless, but here are a few we came up with after a quick shout out around the Virgin1 office:

If you can aim to make your videos 60 or 90 seconds we’ll love you forever.

Absolutely anything goes - use your pet hamster to recreate The Nightmare Before Christmas or strap on a comedy beard and do your best Santa Claus: The Movie.

Where would life be without a few dos and don’ts?
While we’re asking you to submit your tributes to your favourite Christmas films, we wouldn't want you to fall foul of any legal issues. (Terms & Conditions)

Do
Be imaginative, creative and funny.
Keep it clean - we’re prone to blushing.
Make sure anyone featured is 16 or over and they give their consent. (Parental consent is required for anyone aged between 16 and 18.)
Keep a master copy of your film.
Have a read of the terms & conditions.

Don’t
Don’t make your entire film from dialogue from the original film.
Don’t use any commercial music, including music from films.
Don’t incorporate any clips or merchandise from the original film.
Don't use pictures you've lifted off the internet.
